2007-10-24tuner: add i2c_gate_ctrl function to struct analog_tuner_opsMichael Krufky
From: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org> In some designs, the tuner silicon may be on an i2c bus behind an i2c gate, controlled by the analog demodulator. We already have a method to control such i2c gates when they are controlled by the digital demodulator, but in some hybrid designs, there may be an i2c gate controlled by each demodulator. For example, when in analog tuning mode, one would access the tuner by opening the i2c gate controlled by the analog demodulator, while when in digital tuning mode, one would access the tuner by opening the i2c gate controlled by the digital demodulator. We must add this callback function to analog_tuner_ops in order to handle such configurations. The tda8290 analog demodulator will be handled the same way as tda9887. The tuner.ko module (tuner-core) will pass commands to tda8290 via the tuner_operations interface. tda8290 will communicate with tda827x via the dvb_frontend interface, while passing a pointer to a private data structure. But in these cases, it makes more sense to use CONFIG_VIDEO_SAA7134_DVB or CONFIG_VIDEO_CX88_DVB_MODULE depending on the driver. The reference in cx23885.h should just be removed, as the code there needs to be included if DVB is on or off. I do not think you can even compile the cx23885 driver without DVB. From: Trent Piepho <xyzzy@speakeasy.org> If a kconfig option goes away in the v4l-dvb Kconfig files, but is still present in the kernel Kconfig files, then v4l-dvb code using that option would appear to be ok. This is fixed by not reading the drivers/media Kconfig files from the kernel source and merging the options defined there with those from the v4l-dvb version. If a Kconfig file is read from v4l-dvb, the kernel version of that file is not read. Fix a regex bug that made #ifdef CONFIG_WHATEVER_MODULE appear to be missing when WHATEVER did exist. Due to the replace of videobuf_read_one to videobuf_read_stream, poll() method implementation is wrong. This fixes poll() implementation, making read of /dev/video? to work again.
