2007-12-10Add a tool for checking codingstyle and report to emacs "Compile" commandMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> For those who develp using emacs, checking a patch is now a matter of asking emacs to compile, using "make checkemacs" command. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2007-12-10Avoid troubles when using multiple devicesMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> mv_count is a counter used to move the vertical bars. Before this patch, it where a static var. This works fine for just one device. However, when using multiple devices, every device would increment it. This patch moves it to its correct place: struct vivi_dev. So, now, each device has its own data. 2007-12-10Allow vivi to open multiple video devicesMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> Now, it is possible to open multiple vivi devices, by using n_devs parameter. This makes vivi driver closer to a real one. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2007-12-10Fix vivi to support non-zero minor nodeMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> There were a trouble at vivi driver when using non-zero inodes. This where due to not properly preserving the minor inode after calling video_register. Since this driver is a reference for newer drivers, and it is possible to have more than one video device inside the machine, this patch makes vivi to dynamically allocate video_device struct. Thanks to Gregor Jasny <jasny@vidsoft.de> for pointing the issue. Also, this patch removes a very anoying (but useless) message of not having a proper release call. 2007-12-09saa7134: Enable remote control support for Avermedia M102Mauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Albert Graham <agraham@g-b.net> This patch enabled the IR remote control for the Avermedia M102 (card=110), which appears to be the same IR as the already supported device on the Avermedia AVerTV GO 007 FM (card=57) model, the code is two one liners which enable the IR for this device (subsystem: 1461:f31e) Signed-off-by: Albert Graham <agraham@g-b.net> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2007-12-08V4L: Memory leak! Fix count in videobuf-vmalloc mmapMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Brandon Philips <bphilips@suse.de> This is pretty serious bug. map->count is never initialized after the call to kmalloc making the count start at some random trash value. The end result is leaking videobufs. Also, fix up the debug statements to print unsigned values. Pushed to http://ifup.org/hg/v4l-dvb too Signed-off-by: Brandon Philips <bphilips@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>

From: Benoit Istin <beistin@gmail.com> There are several months my hvr1110 stop working. 2007-12-03Added checkpatch.pl requirement at README.patchesMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> The usage of scripts/checkpatch.pl were already documented at SubmittingPatches[1], since June, 1st. This patch explicitly adds this as a requirement, since people don't generally check the new requirements added there. [1] referenced at README.patches. 2007-12-03Copy kernel's checkpatch.pl and improve prep_commit_msg.plMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> Kernel's checkpatch.pl appeared only on kernel version 2.6.22. However, several improvements happened on recent kernels. This patch copies the latest version (0.11) of checkpatch.pl to the v4l-dvb development tree. Also, now, prep_commit_msg.pl checks if the script is available at Kernel and checks for its version. If the version is older than the in-tree one, it uses the in-tree. Otherwise, kernel version is used. It is always a good idea to use kernel's checkpatch.pl, since some additional tests can be done when using the kernel's, like checking for the usage of depreciated API's. 2007-12-02pvrusb2: Remove use of volatile in pipeline control state machineMike Isely
From: Mike Isely <isely@pobox.com> pvrusb2: Eliminate use of volatile in pipeline control state variables. These were all cases of paranoia; upon further review the overall mechanism employed here should not require use of volatile. This had originally been done out of paranoia, and I have since been convinced that the paranoia is not required. Signed-off-by: Mike Isely <isely@pobox.com>
2007-12-02pvrusb2: Remove use of volatile in command sequencerMike Isely
From: Mike Isely <isely@pobox.com> pvrusb2: Remove use of volatile for command sequencer; these variables are set by interrupt-context code and we check their state in such a manner that there should be no race conditions. 2007-12-02pvrusb2: Implement default standard selection based on device typeMike Isely

2007-12-02pvrusb2: Fix compilation for kernels older than 2.6.18Mike Isely
From: Mike Isely <isely@pobox.com> Move VIDEO_PVRUSB2_SYSFS such that it is turned off for kernels older than 2.6.18. This should allow the driver to still compile using older kernel (minus the sysfs interface). This change is due to the driver's sysfs implementation moving forward to the newer class interface mechanism; the differences are too great to cleanly separate with ifdefs (and I expect the divergence to grow as other changes are made to take advantage of the new mechanism), so for now we simply give up trying to deal with the old interface. 2007-11-30 saa7134: fix ignored interruptsMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Heikki Lindholm <holindho@cs.helsinki.fi> The saa7134 video driver starts dropping frames when used together with the saa7134-alsa driver. Frames are dropped because when an audio event is waiting the driver simply ignores the interrupt and passes it on to the saa7134-alsa interrupt handler. The alsa interrupt handler in turn acknowledges all types of events thus clearing the pending video events as well. Fix by only masking out the audio event in the video interrupt handler and by only acknowledging the audio event in the alsa driver. 2007-11-29 saa7134: add mute support for radio/analog-in on MD9717 and MD7134Mauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Hermann Pitton <hermann-pitton@arcor.de> Hi, since there is no movement on this since ever, I suggest to proceed in that direction for now. Better solutions, if the chip or tuners should allow them, are of course welcome. Cheers, Hermann Currently the saa7134 chips only have mute support for the TV input. Cards with mute from external audio muxes are already fine on the other inputs and some recent tuners mute at least the radio on exit. But these mostly hybrid tuners are not fully backward compatible, since they must power down and mute regardless. For some included above, the MD7134 knows several, to switch on mute/automute to the TV input is functional and backward compatible for the applications, except that the tuners with tda9887 always mute on exit. 2007-11-26 ir-keymaps.c: extra keys on winfast Y04G0033 remoteMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Michel Lespinasse <walken@zoy.org> This change adds support for 4 extra keys on the remote currently being shipped by leadtek with their "WinFast TV2000 XP/Expert" and "WinFast PVR2000" cards. The remote P/N seems to be Y04G0033 and you can see a picture of it here: http://lespinasse.org/y04g0033.jpg The extra keys are at the bottom and are labeled MCE +VOL, -VOL, +CH, -CH. I chose to map them to the F21-F24 keycodes, following the precedent of ir_codes_gotview7135[], so as to differentiate these 'MCE' keys from the other +VOL, -VOL, +CH, -CH 'arrow' keys higher up on the remote.
