This patch creates a new usb-radio driver, radio-mr800.c, that
supports the AverMedia MR 800 USB FM radio devices.
This device plugs into both the USB and an analog audio input, so this
thing only deals with initialization and frequency setting, the audio
data has to be handled by a sound driver.

Here's a fix for v4l2-apps/util/Makefile: It uses echo -e, which is not
portable across different shell implementations. I replaced it with
printf. That's a common problem on Ubuntu, where dash is used instead of
bash as the default shell.

cx18: Add default behavior of checking and retrying PCI MMIO accesses.
The concept of checking and retrying PCI MMIO accesses for better reliability
in older motherboards was suggested by Steve Toth <stoth@linuxtv.org>. This
change implements MMIO retries and the retry_mmio module parameter that is
enabled by default. Limited experiments have shown this is more reliable than
the mmio_ndelay parameter. mmio_ndelay has insignificant effect with retries
enabled.

Concurrent access to a single DVB CA 50221 interface slot is generally
discouraged. The underlying drivers (budget-av, budget-ci) do not implement
proper locking and thus two transactions could (and do) interfere with on
another.
This fixes the following problems seen by others and myself:
- sudden i/o errors when writing to the ci device which usually would
result in an undefined state of the hw and require a software restart
- errors about the CAM trying to send a buffer larger than the agreed size
usually also resulting in an undefined state of the hw
Due the to design of the DVB CA 50221 driver, implementing the locks in the
underlying drivers would not be enough and still leave some race conditions,
even though they were harder to trigger.

Hi Mauro,
this patch removes the unnecessary get/set input/audio functions.
The reason is, that the V4L2 specification says, that if input or audio cannot be switched anyway, the functions doesn't need to be implemented.
I've tested the new driver with all current radio programs in Debian/testing and found no problems with that.
In my opinion, the driver is much cleaner by removing these unnecessary functions.
Bye,
Toby

Hi Mauro,
this patch changes the handling of unsupported base controls.
In the former version, specific unsupported base controls were listed in the queryctrl table and were flagged as disabled controls.
This was done for all base controls used by the applications.
The patch now removes the specific base controls and instead lets queryctrl automatically return unsupported base controls flagged as disabled.
Bye,
Toby

Hi Mauro,
this patch improves support for multiple radio devices.
In previous versions all region relevant settings were derived from one module parameter.
As in future versions, the region and other configuration should be configurable per device from the user space, this patch already retrieves all relevant information from the actual device specific settings.
Best regards,
Toby

The functions dvb_dmxdev_section_callback, dvb_dmxdev_ts_callback,
dvb_dmx_swfilter_packet, dvb_dmx_swfilter_packets, dvb_dmx_swfilter and
dvb_dmx_swfilter_204 may be called from both interrupt and process
context. Therefore they need to be protected by spin_lock_irqsave()
instead of spin_lock().
This fixes a deadlock discovered by lockdep.

There is a buffer overflow in drivers/media/video/uvc/uvc_ctrl.c:
INFO: 0xf2c5ce08-0xf2c5ce0b. First byte 0xa1 instead of 0xcc
INFO: Allocated in uvc_query_v4l2_ctrl+0x3c/0x239 [uvcvideo] age=13 cpu=1 pid=4975
...
A fixed size 8-byte buffer is allocated, and a variable size field is read
into it; there is no particular bound on the size of the field (it is
dependent on hardware and configuration) and it can overflow [also
verified by inserting printk's.]
The patch attempts to size the buffer to the correctly.

Auto-update controls are never marked is loaded to prevent uvc_get_ctrl from
loading the control value from the cache. When setting a composite (mapped to
several V4L2 controls) auto-update UVC control, the driver updates the control
cache value before processing each V4L2 control, overwriting the previously
set V4L2 control.
This fixes the problem by marking all controls as loaded in uvc_set_ctrl
regardless of their type and resetting the loaded flag in uvc_commit_ctrl for
auto-update controls.
