2008-08-09cxusb: add support for DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Digital 4 (rev 2)Michael Krufky
From: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Add support for revision 2 of the DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Digital 4 which has new tuners and demodulators (2 x DIB7070p). With this patch both DVB reception and IR works. The dib7000p driver currently hardwires the output mode to OUTMODE_MPEG2_SERIAL regardless of what we ask for. Modify it to allow OUTMODE_MPEG2_PAR_GATED_CLK to be set. Longer term we should remove the check completely and set the output mode correctly in all the callers. Add Kconfig bits to ensure the dib7000p and dib0070 modules are enabled. It would be nice to only do this for the !DVB_FE_CUSTOMISE case, but this is what the other DIB7070 module does (there are a number of module dependencies in the attach code). Not surprisingly this causes an oops for all devices which use the umt-010 chipset when they are inserted. fix on Kaffeine channel scan for Initialize stream count using MAX_NO_URBS_FOR_DATA_STREAM. From: Daniel J Blueman <daniel.blueman@gmail.com> When inadvertently hot-unplugging a WT-220U USB DVB-T receiver with 2.6.24, I was met with an oops [1]. The problem is relevant to 2.6.25/26-rc also. dvb_frontend_init() was called either from re-creation of the kdvb-fe0 thread - seems unlikely, or someone called dvb_frontend_reinitialise(), causing this path in the thread - really unlikely, as I can't find any call-site for it. Either way, quite a number of drivers call dvb_usb_generic_rw() [2] without checking the validity of the relevant member in the dvb_usb_device struct - which had changed. Having dvb_usb_generic_rw() sanity-check and fail (rather than loading from 0x120) seems reasonable defensive programming [3], in light of it being called in this way. The problem with this, is that drivers don't check the return code of the init call [4]. Does it make sense to cook a patch which allows the failure to be propagated back up, or am I missing something else? From: Devin Heitmueller <devin.heitmueller@gmail.com> The Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro has an xc5000, which exposed a bug in the dib0700's i2c implementation where it did not properly support a single i2c read request (sending it as an i2c write request instead). Version 1.20 of the firmware added support for a new i2c API which supported such requests. This change defaults to fw 1.20 for all devices, but does not default to using the new i2c API (since initial testing suggests problems interacting with the mt2060). Maintainers can enable the use of the new i2c API by putting the following into their frontend initialization: struct dib0700_state *st = adap->dev->priv; st->fw_use_new_i2c_api = 1; Also note that the code expects i2c repeated start to be supported. If the i2c slave does not support repeated start, i2c messsages should have the I2C_M_NOSTART flag set.
