2006-10-07gl861: correct address of the bulk endpointMichael Krufky
From: Jan Nijs <jan.nijs@scarlet.be> The megasky 580 based on gl861 has three endpoints: - 0x81 BULK/ISOC IN MPEG2 TS - 0x83 INT IN remote control receiver - 0x02 BULK OUT bulk control endpoint It doesn't look like the bulk endpoint is used, but better to have the correct one in the config. 2006-10-07gl861: correct oops when loading moduleMichael Krufky
From: Jan Nijs <jan.nijs@scarlet.be> This patch moves the DVB_USB_IS_AN_I2C_ADAPTER flag from the adapter properties to the device properties. Without this patch I get an OOPS when the gl861 driver tries to access any registers. Signed-off-by: Jan Nijs <jan.nijs@scarlet.be> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org>

2006-10-04USB: Dealias -110 code (more complete)Mauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> Apply the relevant parts of a patch from Pete Zaitcev <zaitcev@redhat.com> kernel-sync: Original description: The purpose of this patch is to split off the case when a device does not reply on the lower level (which is reported by HC hardware), and a case when the device accepted the request, but does not reply at upper level. This redefinition allows to diagnose issues easier, without asking the user if the -110 happened "immediately". The usbmon splits such cases already thanks to its timestamp, but it's not always available. I adjusted all drivers which I found affected (by searching for "urb"). Out of tree drivers may suffer a little bit, but I do not expect much breakage. At worst they may print a few messages. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>

2006-10-04fix broken/dubious driver suspend() methodsMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> Applied the rellevant v4l-dvb part of this patch from David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> kernel-sync: Original description: Small driver suspend() fixes in preparation for the PRETHAW events: - Only compare message events for equality against PM_EVENT_* codes; not against integers, or using greater/less-than comparisons. (PM_EVENT_* should really become a __bitwise thing.) - Explicitly test for SUSPEND events (rather than not-something-else) before suspending devices. - Removes more of the confusion between a pm_message_t (wraps event code) and a "state" ... suspend() originally took a target system state. These updates are correct and appropriate even without new PM_EVENT codes. benh: "I think in the Mesh case, we should handle the freeze case as well or we might get wild DMA." 2006-10-03dvb-usb: initial support for MSI Mega Sky 580 DVB-T based on GL861Michael Krufky
From: Carl Lundqvist <comabug@gmail.com> This patch adds support for MSI Mega Sky 580 / GL861 DVB-T USB2.0 Notes: Except for the 2 lines added to zl10353.c, zl10353_reset_attach needs to be changed. If I read the code correctly setting parallel_ts will take care of the 3rd byte, but the 2nd byte needs to be 0x0b instead of 0x03 too. I guess these changes needs to be done only for this device, not sure how to do that. The zl10353 changes have been split apart from this patch, into the next patch, soon to follow. 2006-09-25Add frontend structure callback for bus acquisition.Steven Toth
From: Steven Toth <stoth@hauppauge.com> This patch enables generic bus arbitration callbacks enabling dvbcore frontend_open and frontend_release to pass 'acquire' and 'release' hardware messages back into the DVB bridge frameworks. Frameworks like cx88 can then implement single bus multiple demod card sharing features, which would prohibit two frontends from attempting to use a single transport bus at the same time. 2006-09-23dvb-usb: Initial support for MSI Mega Sky 580 based on Uli m9206Michael Krufky
From: Aapo Tahkola <aet@rasterburn.org> Currently, the driver works in bulk mode supporting both USB 2.0 and 1.0 with and without hardware pid filters. The ULi m9205 also supports isochronous transfer mode, but I have dropped support for it because it depends on firmware and does not work on all USB host chips. Further, I have no firmware with remote controller support for this mode. Signed-off-by: Aapo Tahkola <aet@rasterburn.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org>
2007-01-22proper vendor/device ID for the CinergyT2 input deviceMichael Krufky
From: Tino Keitel <tino.keitel@tikei.de> I noticed that udev does not create a symlink for the CinergyT2 remote input device in /dev/input/by-id, which is required if I want to have a unique device name for lircd. The attached patch tries to achive this. However, udev still omits the input device for /dev/input/by-id symlinks. I think something is still not reported correctly. 2007-01-21dvb-usb: Register the bus, vendor and product IDs for remote deviceMichael Krufky
From: Chris Rankin <rankincj@yahoo.com> This patch writes the USB vendor and product IDs into the /sys/class/input/inputX/id/ files, so that udev can find them. A rule like this does the trick for me: KERNEL="event*", SYSFS{../id/vendor}=="2040", SYSFS{../id/product}=="9301", SYMLINK+="input/dvb-remote" Signed-off-by: Chris Rankin <rankincj@yahoo.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org>
