It seems about a third of the drivers already has a lock of some sort protecting the open(), another third uses video_exclusive_open (yuck!) and the last third required adding the BKL in their open function. Drivers fill in a const struct v4l2_ioctl_ops and video_device just contains a const pointer to it. This ensures a clean separation between the const ops struct and the non-const video_device struct. Basically, compat.h should be the last include for it to work properly. This patch basically reorders kernel headers to allow backward compat to work fine.
