2009-04-01v4l: increase version numbers of drivers converted to v4l2_subdev.Hans Verkuil
From: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl> With all the v4l2_subdev changes that were made to these drivers it is a good idea to increase the version number of each driver. It's just the patch level that is increased, except for the zoran and saa7146 drivers where the minor number was increased due to the more substantial changes that were made to those two drivers. Priority: normal Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl>

2007-07-23dvb-ttpci/saa7146: Replace saa7146_i2c_transfer by generic i2c_transferOliver Endriss
From: Oliver Endriss <o.endriss@gmx.de> Convert av7110_v4l.c to use i2c_transfer() instead of saa7146_i2c_transfer(). Make saa7146_i2c_transfer() static. Signed-off-by: Oliver Endriss <o.endriss@gmx.de>

2007-05-03saa7146: DMA: Correctly free resources on error, sync PCI streamed dataOliver Endriss
From: Jon Burgess <jburgess777@googlemail.com> I added saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() which frees the resources allocated by saa7146_vmalloc_build_pgtable() and updated the callers in budget-core.c and av7110.c. I have also been through the updated functions and updated the error paths to ensure they free all allocated resources on error. I also realised that there are other callers to saa7146_pgtable_free() which did not have any sg DMA mapped so it seems wrong to add the pci_unmap_sg() into that function. Instead I created saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() to do this. Also included in this patch are the previous fixes for pci_unmap_sg() and syncing the PCI streamed data to work with a SWIOTLB and match the requirements documented in DMA-API.txt. 2006-11-01saa7146: Protect access to the IER register by a spinlockOliver Endriss
From: Hartmut Birr <e9hack@googlemail.com> Protect the access to the IER register of the SAA7146 by the device spinlock. I2C transfers may use interrupt mode now. Signed-of-by: Hartmut Birr <e9hack@googlemail.com> Signed-off-by: Oliver Endriss <o.endriss@gmx.de>
2006-02-06sem2mutex: drivers/media/, #2Mauro Carvalho Chehab

2006-01-07Some cleanups at I2C modulesMauro Carvalho Chehab
- Latest patch reverted, since __stringfy seems to be needed for kernel < 2.6.15 - Applied kernel I2C cleanups from Jean Delaware. - driver names simplified to allow usage of newer printk macros at v4l2-common.h Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@brturbo.com.br>

2004-12-02Patch by C.Y.M.: add __user and __iomem annotations, remove someJohannes Stezenbach
unnecessary casts (cleanups from mailine kernel)
2004-11-21- prefix IER_DISABLE and IER_ENABLE with SAA7146_Johannes Stezenbach
- add SAA7146_ISR_CLEAR - use those consistently in the ttpci driver
2004-11-13Corrected name of busywait parameterAndrew de Quincy
2004-11-12 - Compile fixKenneth Aafloy
2004-06-21- Replace generic saa7146 i2c name by card specific name, suggested by Uli ↵Michael Hunold

2004-05-03- fix include file order in ttpci-driverMichael Hunold
- convert tda1004x driver to kernel i2c, implement untested firmware loading
2004-04-28- fix some ppc be endianess issues, overlay works fine, grabbing does not ↵Michael Hunold
work reliably yet, though
2004-04-06- introduce new class variable, sets the i2c adapter class for 2.6 (unused ↵Michael Hunold
for 2.4)
2004-04-05First commmit for budget-ci CI interface codeAndrew de Quincy
2004-03-11Checked in experimental frontend patchAndrew de Quincy
Also some minimal budget-ci CI support implemented (just detection+IRQs)
2004-01-03- fix memory leak when using custom pagetables for video dma,Michael Hunold
store the pointer in our saa7146_pagetable struct and free it later on correctly (only used by budget DVB drivers) - remove some commented out debug code
2003-11-25introduced flag SAA7146_I2C_SHORT_DELAY to speed up I2C accessOliver Endriss
2003-11-20- move saa7146_set_gpio() from saa7146_vv to saa7146_coreMichael Hunold
- add "new" saa7146_wait_for_debi_done() function, remove other versions from av7110 and budget.ci - make budget-ci use this gpio function and the new wait_...() function, therefore fix BORROWED_FROM_AV7110_H_BUT_REALLY_BELONGS_IN_SAA7146_DEFS_H remark
2003-11-20- make saa7146_pgtable_build_single() deliver a return code, make someMichael Hunold
sanity checks of the arguments (if a bad pagetable is created, unpredictable thinks can happen. trust me... ;-) - follow this change for the several uses
2003-07-07Make the "ext_vv_data" informations a per-device information insteadMichael Hunold
of a per-extension information. This is needed for the DVB-C cards, which seem to have swapped field order and need to propagate some video4linux specific stuff for the analog module to work.
2003-05-19First try to use pci_consistent_dma() throughout the whole saa7146Michael Hunold
driver subsystem.
2003-05-06Remove "linux/wrapper.h" -- it has been removed in 2.5 and is notMichael Hunold
needed for 2.4 compilation.
2003-04-30- introduce dvb_functions.h in order to make the dvb subsystemMichael Hunold
less dependent on the linux kernel. here is the place to store additional dvb_* functions, which encapsulate linux kernel functionality which cannot be expressed as a one-liner - rename ddelay() to dvb_delay(), move it to dvb_functions.h - change all files to include dvb_functions.h instead of dvb_compat.h - compile fix for the saa7111 driver
2003-04-24- #include "compat.h" --> #include "dvb_compat.h"Holger Waechtler
- return POLL_ERR in case of filter timeout
2003-04-22- removed the compatibility crap around KBUILD_MODNAME from all drivers,Michael Hunold
use KBUILD_BASENAME for 2.4 instead some changes to the i2c core to make it work with both 2.4 and late 2.5 kernels (not done yet -- only interesting for analog drivers) - add MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE to all drivers, so that pci "hotplug" can detect the devices automatically. Alan Cox says, that we should use this to load the firmware (not done yet) - fix the long standing "insmod/rmmod with multiple budget cards" bug -- it was a double kfree() call...
2003-03-20Small changes all over the place:Michael Hunold
- sync Kconfig and Makefiles with 2.5.65 - fix various things in saa7146 because of latest v4l changes in 2.5.65 - makelinks: removed the compat module from the 2.5.x build process - makelinks: removed the linkage of ttusb and bt8xx -- enable this again for the next patches, when ttusb is more stable and the bt8xx related patches have been applied by Gerd Knorr - dvb: removed the compat module from the 2.5.x build process, added #ifdefs around the inclusion of compat.h. this was necessary because having compat code in the newest 2.5.x kernel is awkward. - dvb: move around of dvb_usercopy again. because I removed the compat module from the 2.5.x build process, dvb_usercopy had to be moved to another file - dvb: change MOD_*_USE_COUNT to module_get/module_put in various files, but I'm not sure if I did this right. please review these changes. - dvb: removed the crc32 code from dvb_demux.c, because it's in compat.c, too. - dvb: removed some cruft from dvd_i2c.c, which is present in compat.h - all files: apply small fixes to reflect the new location of some header files
2003-03-20Move important *internal* kernel header files to include/media.Michael Hunold
