This causes kernel oops when user tries to look up (or change) current keymap. While the proper fix would be to make remotes handle keymap changes we'll just remove keycodemax and keycodesize initialization so EVIOCGKEYCODE and EVIOCSKEYCODE will simply return -EINVAL.
