2003-11-01big ffmpeg patchMichael Roitzsch
* do not define CONFIG_ENCODERS any more, use a stripped down XINE_MPEG_ENCODER, which will only compile an I-frame-only MPEG1 encoder (speeds up compile time) * fix a lot of warnings in ffmpeg (a good deal of which have already been submitted to the ffmpeg project by Mike) * simplify some Makefiles CVS patchset: 5667 CVS date: 2003/11/01 18:12:53

RealAudio codecs; import VP3 decoder but leave de-activated; fixes for SVQ3 bugs; more conditional compilation for encoders CVS patchset: 5067 CVS date: 2003/06/19 00:47:19
2003-05-25compiling libavcodec's encoding part as an MPEG encoder suitable for the DXR3Michael Roitzsch
* libavcodec/mpegvideo.c has been modified to work without the need to compile libavcodec/motion_est.c to save compilation time (we don't need motion estimation when encoding I-frames only anyway) * the patch to libavcodec/i386/mpegvideo_mmx_template.c has been reverted, because the encoder crashes with it CVS patchset: 4930 CVS date: 2003/05/25 18:34:54

2003-03-26update ffmpeg. trying to keep local changes (see diff_to_ffmpeg_cvs.txt), let meMiguel Freitas
know if i overlooked something. as usual, preliminary QA: tested non debug builds and several codecs including divx3/4/5, mpeg4, xvid, msmpeg4v3, svq1, wmv7, dv (video/audio), wma i also enabled wmv8 by default since it worked fine with the streams i have. i'm not sure about current state of that so we might enable it only for non-x86 users in case of trouble. 2003-02-28Xine assert() replacement:Stephen Torri
All assert() function calls, with exceptions of libdvdread and libdvdnav, have been replaced with XINE_ASSERT. Functionally XINE_ASSERT behaves just likes its predecesor but its adding the ability to print out a stack trace at the point where the assertion fails. So here are a few examples. assert (0); This use of assert was found in a couple locations most favorably being the default case of a switch statement. This was the only thing there. So if the switch statement was unable to find a match it would have defaulted to this and the user and the developers would be stuck wonder who died and where. So it has been replaced with XINE_ASSERT(0, "We have reach this point and don't have a default case"); It may seem a bit none descriptive but there is more going on behind the scene. In addition to checking a condition is true/false, in this case '0', the XINE_ASSERT prints out: <filename>:<function name>:<line number> - assertion '<assertion expression>' failed. <description> An example of this might be: input_dvd.c:open_plugin:1178 - assertion '0' failed. xine_malloc failed!!! You have run out of memory XINE_ASSERT and its helper function, print_trace, are found in src/xine-utils/xineutils.h CVS patchset: 4301 CVS date: 2003/02/28 02:51:47

- OpenGL header GL/gl.h is checked to see if its exists with wrong header name (GL/GL.h). Test failed despite the file required by src/video_out/video_out_opengl.c was GL/gl.h - Ascii-Art library version incorrect. Replaced configure.in with configure.ac Remove acconfig.h (Unnecessary with autoconf 2.52 or above) Updated configure.ac to remove deprecated macros, upgraded AC_DEFINE to include comments, merged in acconfig.h. Combined libxine and libxineutils into one library. libxineutils is created but not installed. Its statically linked into libxine. Advanced libxine version from 0.2.0 to 1.0.0 Removed references for skins. Plugins now installed to <libdir>/xine/plugins/$XINE_MAJOR.$XINE_MORE. $XINE_SUB Xine-config updated for new location of plugins Sorted file lists in Makefile.am to make them more readable. TODO: remove skins references from xine-config CVS patchset: 2705 CVS date: 2002/09/19 06:01:18
2002-09-16- sync ffmpeg to cvs (sorry Mike it still doesn't decode your teststream --Miguel Freitas
something must be broken at ffmpeg, also happens with mplayer) - added priority sorted lists, now autoprobing should work again. - fixed infinite loop in plugin loader. obs: latest ffmpeg contains ppc optimizations, someone will have to enable these though. Add a dummy module to each of the accelerated processor specific libraries that is always added to the library to make sure static archive libraries are always created.
