It would be great if we could use fuse to map marks.vdr to EDL format, so that XBMC, Mplayer etc. could also automatically skip at cut marks (e.g., those generated by vdr-markad, or entered manually)

Would certainly be possible. Should the VDR marks be treated as cut marks (0) or as commercial breaks (3)?

I think as commercial breaks (3) as that has support for quickly seeking back if they were false positives
