2008-09-22dvb/budget: push adapter_nr mod option down to individual driversJanne Grunau
From: Janne Grunau <janne-dvb@grunau.be> adapter_nr mod option does not make sense for budget-core since it is only common code shared by all budget drivers Priority: normal Signed-off-by: Janne Grunau <janne-dvb@grunau.be>
2008-07-08v4l-dvb: remove support for kernels < 2.6.10Hans Verkuil

2008-04-09Adds selectable adapter numbers as per module optionMichael Krufky
From: Janne Grunau <janne-dvb@grunau.be> The adapter_nr module options can be used to allocate static adapter numbers on a driver level. It avoids problems with changing DVB apapter numbers after warm/cold boot or device unplugging and repluging. Each driver holds DVB_MAX_ADAPTER long array of the preferred order of adapter numbers. options dvb-usb-dib0700 adapter_nr=7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0 would result in a reversed allocation of adapter numbers. With adapter_nr=2,5 it tries first to get adapter number 2 and 5. If both are already in use it will allocate the lowest free adapter number. 2007-08-21Cleanup: remove linux/moduleparam.h from drivers/media filesMauro Carvalho Chehab
From: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org> Since at least kernel 2.6.12-rc2, module.h includes moduleparm.h. This patch removes all occurences of moduleparm.h from drivers/media files. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2007-07-02Fix the return value in ttpci_budget_init()Michael Krufky
From: Hartmut Birr <e9hack@googlemail.com> if the call to budget_register() fails in ttpci_budget_int(), ttpci_budget_init() returns success. The attached patch will fix this problem. Signed-off-by: Hartmut Birr <e9hack@googlemail.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Krufky <mkrufky@linuxtv.org>
2007-05-03saa7146: DMA: Correctly free resources on error, sync PCI streamed dataOliver Endriss
From: Jon Burgess <jburgess777@googlemail.com> I added saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() which frees the resources allocated by saa7146_vmalloc_build_pgtable() and updated the callers in budget-core.c and av7110.c. I have also been through the updated functions and updated the error paths to ensure they free all allocated resources on error. I also realised that there are other callers to saa7146_pgtable_free() which did not have any sg DMA mapped so it seems wrong to add the pci_unmap_sg() into that function. Instead I created saa7146_vmalloc_destroy_pgtable() to do this. Also included in this patch are the previous fixes for pci_unmap_sg() and syncing the PCI streamed data to work with a SWIOTLB and match the requirements documented in DMA-API.txt. 2007-04-22budget-av: Remove polarity switching of the clock for the DVB-C cardsOliver Endriss
From: Hartmut Birr <e9hack@googlemail.com> Remove the polarity switching of the clock for the DVB-C cards in budget-av.c. This hack is no longer necessary because the saa7146 can do the job to remove the additional FEC bytes from the TS. 2006-07-19[budget/budget-av/budget-ci/budget-patch drivers] fixed DMA start/stop codeOliver Endriss
From: Oliver Endriss <o.endriss@gmx.de> Fix bug reported by Andrew de Quincey: After cold boot the saa7146 DMA did not start if the demuxer was opened before the frontend has locked to the signal. DMA transfers will be started now if (and only if) the frontend is locked and data should be sent to the demuxer. Signed-off-by: Oliver Endriss <o.endriss@gmx.de>
2006-04-10Add sysfs device links to dvb devicesAndrew de Quincey
From: Andrew de Quincey <adq_dvb@lidskialf.net> Currently in /sys/class/dvb/dvbX.demuxY/ we have: dev uevent With the patch, we have (for a PCI DVB device): dev device -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:03:0d.0 uevent So userspace tools can (finally) work out which physical device a DVB adapter refers to. Previously you had to kinda look through dmesg and hope that it hadn't been dumped out of the buffer. This makes debugging a lot easier if the system has been up for a long time! This is done by adding an extra 'struct device *' parameter to dvb_register_adapter(). It will work with any kind of standard linux 'device'. Additionally, if someone has an embedded system which does things differently, they can simply supply 'NULL' and the behaviour will be as before - the link will simply not appear. 2006-03-30Configurable dma buffer size for saa7146-based budget dvb cardsOliver Endriss
From: Ingo Schneider <mail@ingo-schneider.de> - Issue a warning when more than 80% of the DMA buffer is being used (probably due to bad IRQ latency). Warnings are rate-limited. - Introduce a new parameter 'bufsize' (in KByte) which increases the default DMA buffer of 188 KByte up to 1410 KByte (Activy: 564 KByte). 2005-01-06patch by Emard: handle PUSI in section filter correctlyJohannes Stezenbach
(fix bug reported by Patrick Valsecchi)
2005-01-01Patch by Emard:Johannes Stezenbach
Budget patch improved driver, fixed slight packet loss by using different trigger mode - each complete frame of 2*188*512 bytes now gets only one VSYNC triggering, using rising edge. Normal budget has VSYNC toggled every 188*512 bytes triggered on both edges. This results in 2x less load on PCI by rps1 but the main advantage is reduction of packet loss to be indistinguishable from the true budget card. Also there is a fix for proper tuning for stv0299 tuners, so now it's even possible to test how budget-patch is running on a true budget card, like e.g. nova, satelco, activy, just copy lines of pci device lines from budget.c

the usage of the syscall interface to load binary firmware used by some frontend drivers. - add dvb_register_frontend_new() and dvb_unregister_frontend_new() which register a frontend driver using the kernel i2c interface instead of the dvb i2c interface. - register kernel i2c interface in av7110/budget driver properly - port stv0299 and ves1x93 to kernel i2c api Other DVB drivers and frontend drivers still can use the old DVB i2c interface.
