Linking OpenSSL from GPL code seems to be an issue,

Please add a license exception to the README, which explicitly allows linking with OpenSSL like:

This software is released under the GPL, version 2 (see COPYING).
Additionally, compiling, linking, and/or using the OpenSSL toolkit in
conjunction with this software is allowed.
