Description

Would it be possible to create an audio stream with metatdata from the EPG so Title, Subtitle, Description... etc appear in the client, in a similar way to streaming radio stations ?
I'm using Squeezeserver to receive VDR radio streams with Streamdev which works well - apart from the lack of EPG info.

This URL explains a way of doing it SHOUTcast/Icecast style (not sure if Squeeze uses it but seems likely) :

I guess your are using HTTP streaming? Which format are you using (TS, externremux, ...)?

I'm using elementary streams (I think these are the only ones that work in this use case).
A typical URL looks like:

I have found a solution!

http://www.siski.de/~carsten/radio-streaming-squeezebox.html

Carsten Gross developed something called ts2shout, and I worked with him to test/debug it with VDR/streamdev. It works best via his documented Apache solution - I modified/tested the Externremux script to try and use it directly but the metadata does not appear and the audio is interrupted, and a few other issues.

However the Apache solution works well with LMS, I use a dedicated vhost to activate ts2shout - it uses no measurable CPU when streaming. I get program title and description
