Using certs signed by a official CA needs some changes in SSL handling:

• The cert file(s) shouldn't be loaded at VDR start. If the cert file(s) are loaded while a new client has connected, cert file(s) could be replaced without the need to restart VDR. This is essential if the cert is renewed and replaced automatically while a recording is in progress.
• The cert file should be loaded as chain file, because chain files allows client access without the need for the client to (possibly not enabled) load the full cert chain.
