vdr-plugin-ttxtsubs

I asked about this in vdr mailinglist, and now when i know that it's not from my configuration, i'm ready to open a feature request about this issue.

Having text without outline ("border" for text) is almost impossible to read when similar color is on the video. Solution so far has been to use background color for the text, but this option makes "big ugly boxes" around the text.

Tobi told it's a vdr issue, that it doesn't support drawing outlined text. I thought this issue could be solved when vdr started to use the freetype library. At that time i just thought that because this plugin is not maintained anymore (and i guess not so many people use it), i thought it's worthless to start any issues about this matter.

So i guess there is atleast 2 choices to make it possible:
1) patch vdr core to allow outlined text (if it's possible at all to use them on FF cards OSD)
2) what Klaus has planned to do "in not so near future": convert teletext subtitles to bitmap format and handle them like dvb subtitles in vdr core.

I think if someone is interested about starting to write patch for it, i would recommend to go for option 2, as it would provide Klaus some code about it, and would make its way to the vdr core faster.
