It seems that filenames are not escaped:

Oct 20 15:56:47 vdr-hd [vdrrip-qh]: merging movie Avanti_Avanti_-_%... into mkv-container
Oct 20 15:56:48 vdr-hd [vdrrip-qh]: an error occured (rc 2) while processing the command: /usr/bin/mkvmer
ge o /mnt/media/video/vdrrip/Avanti_Avanti_%15_von_26_Marco_Polo:"La_China_è_molto_lontana".mkv /mnt/m

Videos without special characters are encoded just fine (for wich I want to thank you very much :) )

I agree there is a lot code to review regarding the correct quoting techniques, will look into that very soon.
