My broadcaster does flag status 3 during commercial breaks, but vdr seems to have lost the pause functionality -> does your uk broadcaster make use of status 3 as well, so you could reintroduce this to vdr with your TVA patch? Another suggestion in the vdr ML was: setting markers in vdr.marks instead of pause recording.

My broadcaster seems to have no support for additional Tv-Anytime information, so I'm using the event-id method (p/f epg) to control start/stop of a recording.

I tested against vdrtva (0.0.6) / patched vdr 1.7.22 and got no reaction during status 3 with setup.conf entries:

UseVps = 1
VpsFallback = 1
VpsMargin = 120

But start/stop was accurate as expected.

DVB-T in the UK does not use p/f Running Status 2 or 3.

The only use vdrtva makes of the Running Status is to fire a timer when the event status changes to 4 (running). Pausing a recording is a different problem and IMO needs a separate plugin/patch.

Good to know that the accurate recording part of vdrtva works for you.
